Mr. Arlyn Russell "A. R." Logsdon, 80, Master Sergeant U. S. Army retired and resident of Sheddan Drive, died Monday November 20, 2006, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Old Well Cemetery with military honors provided by Tennessee National Guard. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A native of Rushville, Illinois, he was the son of the late Russell Charles Logsdon and Almetta DeWitt Logsdon Danoski. After retirement from the U. S. Army, he moved to Columbia in 1974 where he engaged in cattle farming. He was a charter member of Cahaba Shriners Temple in Huntsville, Alabama. He was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Frances Kennedy Logsdon of Columbia; two sons, David R. (Linda) Logsdon of Nashville; DeWitt A. (Brenda) Logsdon of Columbia; one sister, Rita C. Logsdon of Springfield, Illinois; two grandsons, Jeffrey DeWitt Logsdon and Andrew Charles Logsdon, both of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Griffin of Illinois. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
