ADAM KELLEY Adam Kelley, 78, retired manager for United States Steel, died Thursday, October 30, 2003, at his residence on Creek Trail. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Tol Burk and Andrew Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late John Kelley and Ruth Greenfield Kelley. Mr. Kelley served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Doris Isabell Green Kelley of Columbia; one sister, Geneva Green of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews, including special niece Elaine Durard whom he helped rear. Pallbearers will be Charles Turner, Scott Durard, Jeff Orange, Alan Mitchell, Bill Hambek, and Mark Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will be elders and deacons of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, Geraldine Fralix, Helen McKee, Comer and Faye Jackson, Ann Norman, Roy White and Stacy Johnson.
