Addie Belle Baxter

Addie Belle Baxter, 85, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, went home on December 17, 2007 at her daughter's home in Constantine, Michigan with family members at her side. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Lloyd "Rip" Baxter officiating. Burial will be in Baxter Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born in Hampshire, Tennessee on October 14, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Doyle Baxter and Gladys Irene Floyd Baxter. She was a graduate of Hampshire High School where she was captain of the basketball team. She enjoyed doing hair in her beauty salon and had owned her line of cosmetics, Belle Cosmetics. She loved to dance. She enjoyed her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren immensely. Survivors include two daughters, Anne (Dan) Beam of Michigan; Janelle (Jeff) Horrell of Michigan; five grandchildren, Darrick Morkert, Ehrin Ehlert, Dale Guffey, Josh Guffey, Tara Guffey; and six great grandchildren, Angel Guffey, Austin Guffey, Darrian Morkert, Patrick Morkert, Jordyn Morkert, and Ryan Jennett. Pallbearers will be family members.
