Mrs. Addie Louise Riley Baxter, 91, retired employee of Bel-Air Nursing Home and former resident of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Rosewood Manor. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Baxter Cemetery with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 2:00 - 3:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late George Riley and Lessie Vandiver Riley. She was married to Herbert Baxter who preceded her in death on November 4, 1970. Mrs. Baxter was a member of Beech Hill Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Catherine Hines of Columbia; one son, G. W. Riley of Williamsport; one stepson, William H. Baxter, Jr. of Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Joanne Anderson of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Opal Collier of Culleoka; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Rebecca Warren and Helen McDonald; three sisters, Onnie Baxter, Cova Simmons, and Frances Howell; and one brother, Bob Riley. Pallbearers will be Mark Warren, Bubba McDonald, Kevin Montgomery, Terry Baker, Dennis Baker, and Gene Ray Baxter.
