Adron D Phifer

March 11, 1932 — July 8, 2007

Mr. Adron Davis "PeeWee" Phifer, 75, resident of Lawrence County, died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Leslie Shadrick and Elmer Lusk officiating. Burial will be in Sparkman Cemetery in Williamson County. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Marshall County native was the son of the late Rice Phifer and Mildred Davis Phifer. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was the retired owner and auctioneer of Highway 99 Antique Auction Barn. Mr. Phifer was a member of New Prospect Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Sullivan Phifer of Ethridge; daughter, Sherry (Kenneth) Riddle of Ethridge; three grandchildren, Kim (Jason) Ferrell of Shelbyville; Heather Riddle and Joshua Riddle both of Ethridge; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Mullins, Constance Mullins, Brandi Ferrell, Amy Ferrell; five brothers, Calvin (Edna) Phifer of Franklin, Junior (Evie) Phifer of Farmington, Butch (Sue) Phifer of Elkton, Bill (Faye) Phifer of Farmington, Jack (Pat) Phifer of Lewisburg; five sisters, Elizabeth (James) Foster, Betty (Larry) Clay, Dot Parsons, Sue (Gus) Harwell all of Lewisburg, Linda (Doug) Shaddy of Belfast; father-in-law, Sam (Catherine) Sullivan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, James Michael "Mike" Phifer and a sister, Lillian Hardison. Pallbearers will be Sam Fitzgerald, Tommy Fitzgerald, Mark Love, Steve Phifer, Clyde Watson, Donnie Watson, Andrew Fitzgerald and Ralph Polk.
