Mrs. Alice Morrow Fite, 95, long-time resident of Craig Bridge Road in the Sawdust Community, died Sunday, June 12, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:00 Noon at Oakes & Nichols with Dr. Larry McGranahan and Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Nebo Cemetery Fund, in care of R. D. Ledford, 906 Camellia Drive, Columbia, 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late John Elihue Morrow and Annie Elizabeth Love Morrow. She was educated in the Hampshire Community and was a former member of the Sawdust Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Fite attended the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church most of her life and was formerly active in the Women's Society of Christian Service. In recent years, she was a member of the Southpoint Church of Christ. She married Raymond Edward Fite in 1926. This union spanned forty-nine and one-half years until his death in April, 1976. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Edward and Patricia N. Fite and Bobby Ray and Patricia E. Fite, both of Williamsport; a sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Howard Voss of Columbia; five grandchildren, Edward N. (Nancy) Fite, Kathleen F. (Chris) Brock, Janet F. (Walter) Ward, Daphne (Lee) Sullivan and Frank (Tonya) Sullivan; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers are Chris Brock, Walter Ward, Lee Sullivan, Justin Mash, Phil Mash and Donnie Morrow. Honorary pallbearers include Men of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, Staff of NHC Hillview, Dr. John Simmons, Edward Cothron, Donald Scott, Dr. J. Fredric Wade, Dr. Douglas Wilburn, Dr. Dale Alden, Rev. John Anderson and Dr. Taylor Rayburn.
