MRS. ALICE JACKSONMrs. Alice Sherman Rippey Jackson, 85, retired bookkeeper at Rippey Auto Parts and resident of Benton Hall, died Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at Maury Regional Hospital.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Phillip Wright officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church. The Champagne, Illinois native was the daughter of the late Ollie Brown Rippey and Mary Kindel Rippey. She was married to David Scott Jackson who preceded her in death on April 19, 1972. She was a graduate of Haylong High School and Columbia Business College. She was a member of the Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities (APTA) and the James K. Polk Memorial Association. She was a 72 year member of First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.Survivors include one brother, Robert Rippey of Columbia and several nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be David Jackson, Jimmy Rippey, Granville Cheatham, Billy Fleming, David Shaw Jackson, Bill Fleming, Danny Fleming, Eric Claus, and Michael Franks.
