Alice Ruth Jones Taylor, 87, retired employee of Middle Tennessee Bank and former longtime resident of North Hardin Drive, died Saturday, December 1, 2018 in Williamson County.Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Danny Ray Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Alzheimer’s Association, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102. On May 31, 1947, she married William Oslin Taylor; and her husband of sixty-eight years preceded her in death February 5, 2015. Mrs. Taylor was an excellent cook and enjoyed flower gardening. She was a member of Northview Church of Christ.Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy Taylor (Houston) McCandless of Franklin; sisters, Mary (Bill) Martin of Columbia; Flossie Burgess of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Brian McCandless of Spring Hill, Heather McCandless (J.D.) Ryan of Franklin, Christopher Taylor of Baltimore, Maryland; great grandchild, Jacob McCandless Ryan of Franklin; daughter-in-law, Connie McGee Taylor of Brentwood; and sister-in-law, Louise Whitsett of Lewisburg.She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Oslin Taylor on April 26, 2015.Active pallbearers will be Brian McCandless, Keith Martin, J. D. Ryan, Wayne Troope, Robert McClure, and Paul McClure. Honorary pallbearers will include past employees of Middle Tennessee Bank.
