Allan Madison Woody

October 14, 1920 — April 26, 2006

Mr. Allan Madison Woody, 85, farmer and long-time resident of Snow Creek Road in the Santa Fe Community and formerly with Maury Construction Company, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Tom Jobe officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Santa Fe Cemetery Association, c/o Burton Woody, 4829 Snow Creek Road, Santa Fe 38487. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Santa Fe native was the son of the late John N. Woody and Pauline Pigg Woody and a graduate of Santa Fe High School. Mr. Woody was a long-time active member of Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church. His wife, Louise Fitzgerald Woody, died August 22, 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Betty (Jerry) Johns of Columbia; a son, Charles (Paula) Woody of Columbia; two brothers, Burton (Gladys) Woody of Santa Fe and George (Barbara) Woody of Columbia; three grandchildren, Chris Woody of Columbia, Bethany (Jeff) Jones of Benton, Kentucky and Laura Woody of Spring Hill; five great-grandchildren, Kayla Woody, Chelsey Woody, Clay Woody, C. J. Woody and Laney Beth Jones. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jefferson Woody and H. P. Woody. Active pallbearers are Wayne Woody, Fred Woody, Ronnie Woody, Barry Woody, Donnie Woody, Gary Woody, Will Frank Woody and Michael Dodson. Men of Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
