Mr. Thomas Alvin Lunn, 72, retired employee of Monsanto, lifelong resident and well-known farmer of the Bear Creek Community, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Kenneth Lunn, Greg Gwin, and David Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday after 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Collegevue Church of Christ Building Fund, 1618 Hampshire Pike, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Vera Penn "V.P." Lunn and Ruby Cammuse Lunn. He served three years in the Tennessee National Guard. His career with Monsanto Chemical Company spanned thirty-five years, both in Columbia and prior to his retirement in Soda Springs, Idaho. Mr. Lunn was a member of Collegevue Church of Christ where he served as Elder for ten years. Survivors include his wife, Shelby Ring Lunn of Columbia; four children, Teresa (Mickey) Fitzgerald of Lynnville; Kenneth (Lynda) Lunn of Batavia, Ohio; Phillip (Meribeth) Lunn of Chapel Hill; Michelle (Matt) Taylor of Hillsboro, Oregon; seven grandchildren, Michael Brad (Jelynda) Fitzgerald, Brandon Fitzgerald, Blake Fitzgerald, Chad Lunn, Nina Lunn, Jessica Taylor, Joshua Taylor; four great grandchildren, Cayde Watts, Braden Fitzgerald, Bethany Fitzgerald, Hunter Fitzgerald; two brothers, Stacey (Olivia) Lunn of Spring Hill; Ronnie (Glenda) Lunn of Lynnville; two sisters, Frankie (Stan) Pilkinton of Columbia; Vera Sue (Ronnie) Riley of Spring Hill; stepmother, Hattie Sue Jones Lunn of Spring Hill; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Michael Brad Fitzgerald, Brandon Fitzgerald, Blake Fitzgerald, Chad Lunn, Joshua Taylor, Stacey Lunn, Ronnie Lunn, Gordon Meade, Arthur Hanes, Dale Lindsey, Yancey Smith, Trent Hanes, Jared Ring, and Joel Gwin. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Collegevue Church of Christ, friends of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, retirees from Monsanto Chemical Company in Columbia and Soda Springs, Idaho, Stan Pilkinton, Billy Joe Hardison, Jimmy Hardison, Ronnie Riley, Doug Bain, Jonathan Bates, Dr. Ruth Lamar, Dr. Paul Rosenblatt, Dr. James Kelley, and Dr. Kelly Williams.
