Mr. Amos E. "Buddy" Davidson, 74, retired meat cutter for forty years, a number of years at Lovett's Market, and a resident of the Iron Bridge Road, died Thursday, August 5, 2004 at Columbia Care & Rehab. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Billy Felker officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Columbia Care & Rehab, 1410 Trotwood Avenue, Columbia, 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Logan Davidson and Rosa Lee Day Davidson. He was a member of the Scribner's Mill Church of Christ. He was married October 15, 1948 to the former Mary Christine Derryberry who preceded him in death December 19, 1994. Survivors include three daughter, Linda G. (Dexter) Hunter of Columbia, Dawn (Billy) Thompson of Murfreesboro, Shawn (Ronnie) Crumley of Kingsport; a son, Randy (Nancy) Davidson of Columbia; a sister, Margaret Poteete of Lewisburg; eight grandchildren; two step- grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemary Martin; a grandson, Christopher Armstrong Hunter; four brothers, Merritt Davidson, Grady Davidson, John Davidson and Gene Davidson. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Pennock, Doris Lovett, Don Derryberry and the Staff of Columbia Care & Rehab.
