Mr. Amos Hindman, 83, retired lab technician with Witco Inc. in Pekin, Illinois and resident of N. Hardin Dr., died Thursday, August 18, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski. He was first married to Grace Vick Hindman who preceded him in death then in 1992 he married Oma Shepherd Owen Hindman of Columbia who survives him. He attended Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors in addition to his wife are one sister, Evelyn Hindman Slayton of Ben Brook, Texas; seven stepchildren, Allene (Jerry E.) Norman, Judge Stella (Dr. Joel) Hargrove, Faye Owen all of Columbia, William (Pat) Owen of Pulaski, Carolyn Langley of Slidell, Louisiana, Shirley Reed of Nashville, Jackie (Marilyn) Owen of Mt. Pleasant; 12 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Mary Amy Hindman. Pallbearers will be Dale Vick, Terrell Angus, Buster Hindman, Melvin Hindman, Doug Brown, Virgil White, Danny Shepherd and Bill Shelton.
