Mr. Andrew Jackson Adams, 79, self-employed plumber and electrician and longtime resident of Mapleash Ave., died Monday, June 2, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Adair officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late Earl Adams and Rebecca Travis Adams. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hazel Scroggins Hinson Adams in May of 1995 and by his son, Larry Hinson. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Nancy Lindsey, Annie Lee Goodwin, Louise Waller, Lillie Mae Cripps and four brothers, W.T. "Pete" Adams, J.E. "Doc" Adams, Polk Adams and Mike Adams. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Old Coots Sunday School Class at Highland Park Baptist Church.
