Mrs. Ann Bennett Parks, 76, resident of Cheyenne Trail, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Calvin Lunn officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Born in Breckenridge County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William Bennett and Mary Lee Parks Bennett and a 1950 graduate of Irvington High School. She was married October 14, 1950 to Rev. Wayne Parks, who preceded her in death February 11, 2008. During their 57-year marriage, she worked by her husband's side in his ministry in Cumberland Presbyterian congregations in Middle Tennessee and Kentucky. They eventually came to call Maury County home as he served First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Columbia and Mt. Pleasant. Rev. and Mrs. Parks also frequented and served rural churches in the area. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Michael Layne of Columbia and Jill and Jeff Lanning of Murfreesboro; son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and Karen Parks of Kernersville, North Carolina; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Sandra Parks of Irvington, Kentucky; sister -in-law and brother-in-law, Sue and Shirley Wilson of Irvington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Angie Aiken, Stacey (Brandon) Jackson, Ashley (Chad) Caldwell, Christopher Layne, Lindsey (Michael) Johnson, Drew Parks, and Brett Lanning; a great-grandson, Will Jackson. Pallbearers are Brandon Jackson, Chad Caldwell, Christopher Layne, Michael Johnson, Drew Parks, and Brett Lanning.
