Anna Elizabeth Thompson Grubbs

Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Thompson Grubbs, 95, former resident of East Highland Drive, died Sunday, January 9, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church in Cross Bridges with Rev. Doug McCandless officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 12 noon until time of service at the church. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late C.T. Thompson and Mary Gilbert Thompson. In 1936 she married John Stephenson Grubbs who preceded her in death September 17, 1992. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include several nieces and nephews including, Billy Sims of Columbia; two nieces, Evelyn Thompson Crumley of Columbia and Martha Davis of Mt. Pleasant; one great-niece, Marilyn McCandless of Hampshire; and one half-sister, Juanita Tieman of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her son, John Douglas Grubbs, one sister Mable Sims, and three brothers, Douglas Thompson, Jimmy Thompson and Gilbert Thompson.
