View Video Tribute Anna Ruth “Ann” Williams Church, 83, retired Administrative Assistant for Weather Tamer and resident of Hermitage Circle, died Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Ronnie Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Church always wanted to be a nurse and loved taking care of people. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born August 21, 1935 in Limestone County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late J.P. Williams and the late Evie Thornton Williams. On November 22, 1956, she married Donald Brown Church who preceded her in death July 17, 1999. She graduated salutatorian of her Ardmore High School class in 1953. Mrs. Church had also worked for Farm Bureau and Essex. Later in life she was a private sitter. She enjoyed flower gardening and working in her yard. Mrs. Church along with her husband, were charter members of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Donise Church (Mark) Boone of Mechanicsville, Virginia; Derek (Robin) Church of Columbia; Darrin (Alicia) Church of Ooltewah; grandchildren, Kate Boone (Phil) Hernandez of Richmond, Virginia; Ben (Caitlin) Boone of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Rebekah Church, Joshua Church, Micah Andrew Church all of Ooltewah; great grandchildren, Joy-Ann Ruth, Zoe, and Julietta Hernandez of Richmond, Virginia; Alden Boone of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; brother, Gerald (Doris) Williams of Lafayette; sister, Mildred “Mit” Maddox of Ardmore, Tennessee; and special nieces and nephews, Toni (Kyle) Scaggs, Troy Campbell, Glenda (Ronnie) Lunn, Marilyn LaCroix. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Martha “Mot” Campbell, Margaret South McGee; and brothers, Robert Williams, and Frank Williams. Pallbearers will be Ben Boone, Troy Campbell, Dodd Church, Jerry Church, Joshua Church, Micah Church, Terry Church, Ronnie Lunn, Bob McCoy, David Marler, Doug Rogers, Kyle Scaggs, Tanner Scaggs, Keith Winchester, and Larry Winchester.
