View Funeral WebcastAnne Roach Lochridge, 90, resident of Woldridge Drive, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 P.M. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with Father Chris Bowhay and Father Thomas Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Churchyard at Ashwood. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born in Columbia, Tennessee on September 11, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Mary O'Neal and Herman Frierson Roach. She was a 1944 graduate of Columbia Central High School and attended Columbia State Community College. For 10 years Anne studied ornithology with Michael Bierly of Nashville and was a charter member and past president of the Columbia chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society. She served on the boards of the Maury County Mental Health Association and Neighbors Concerned. Anne was a member of the Maury County Historical Society, the APTA and the Trotwood Garden Club. Anne was an expert caladium grower, was featured in newspaper articles and gave talks about growing caladiums. She worked for many years for the Columbia Welcome Service.She is survived by her son, James Bedford Lochridge of Columbia; daughters, Mary Anne (Tommy) Guschke of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and Nancy Carol Lochridge of Nashville; grandchildren, Gretchen Virginia Guschke of Providence, RI; and Dio Lochridge of Miami,Florida; sister, Dorothy Roach Willoughby of Mt. Juliet; nephews, Don Willoughby of Mt. Juliet; Lee Owen of Bentonville, Arkansas; Mark Owen of Soldotna, Alaska; and special family member, Joyce Jackson of Columbia.Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband of 63 years Owen Bedford Lochridge; her sister, Virginia Clare "Tookie" Roach; her twin sister, Nancy Roach Owen; her aunt, Clare O'Neal who helped raise her; brothers-in-law, Robert Owen and Charles Willoughby; and nephew Al Willoughby.Anne was lovingly cared for by Marlene Ward, Teresa and Katherine Held, Rachel Held Miller, Mary Beth Martin, Diane Lee, Lynne June, Lynne Estes, Debra Cathey, and Nida Bishop. These women enabled her to to have a peaceful life at home for many years after her husband's death.Active Pallbearers will be Dale Willoughby, Don Willoughby, Richard Quin, Dio Lochridge, and John Davis.
