Anne Pirtle Sudberry

January 3, 1927 — February 16, 2007

Mrs. Anne Pirtle Sudberry, 80, retired from the Human Resources Department at Monsanto Company, died Friday, February 16, 2007 at her residence on Woods Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at West End Baptist Church with Dr. Carl Duck officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols and Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, 900 West 7th Street, Columbia 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Winchester in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Floyd Pirtle and Monnye Elrod Pirtle. Devoted to her church and its activities, she was a charter member of West End Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. Survivors include a sister, Juanita Pirtle Story of Monroe; a niece, Linda (Benny) Buck of Livingston; a nephew, Floyd Earl (Cindy) Story of Hilham; two great-nieces, Stefanie (Jeremy) Byrd and Sarah Story; two great-nephews, Kyle Story and Michael Kinnaird; a great-great-niece, Anna Claire Byrd. Deacons of West End Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
