Annie Mae Kennedy Lain, 88, retired teletype operator with Western Union, died Friday, November 4, 2016, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Steve Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in Old Well Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Dr. Henry Grady Kennedy and the late Annie Porter Delk Kennedy. She was married to Theron Devoe Lain who preceded her in death January 6, 2001. Mrs. Lain reared her five children in Bradenton, Florida, and had also made her home in Chattanooga area for several years; but she always enjoyed coming back to her roots in the Kettle Mills Community. She was a member of Red Bank Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Winter of Chattahoochee, FL; sons, Dr. Dorian (Kym) Lain of Farragut, TN; Brian (Rhonda) Lain of Ashland City, TN; John (Aliona) Lain of Knoxville; sister, Frances Logsdon of Columbia; brother, Sam (Betty) Kennedy of Columbia; and grandchildren, Curtis Winters, Heather Vann, Ryan Lain, Kaleigh Lain Smoak, Adry Lain, Ellisa Lain.. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Theron "Terry" Kennedy Lain; sisters, Betty Gentry, Jane Farley; and brothers, William "Dub" Kennedy, Grady Kennedy, and Roy Kennedy. Pallbearers will include Neal Kennedy, Delk Kennedy, DeWitt Logdson, and family and friends.
