Annie Louise Evans Huey, 72, retired employee of General Motors and resident of the Water Valley community, died Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Mike Williams and Wayne Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born September 15, 1947 in Shreveport, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Evans, II and the late Frankie Waldman Evans. Earlier in life, she was a cosmetologist. Mrs. Huey was an avid collector of carousels, carousel horses, and loved butterflies. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their Miata and motorcycle. Survivors include her husband, James Grayland Huey of Santa Fe; daughter, Caroline Leanne Schwem of Dallas, Texas; grandson, A. J. Schwem of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Madison Schwem of Dallas, Texas; step daughter, Jennifer (Tommy) Anderson of Santa Fe; step grandson, Luke Anderson of Santa Fe; and step granddaughter, Morgan Anderson of Santa Fe. Active pallbearers will be Steve Anderson, Ronnie Huey, Jim Oakley, Adam Schwem, A. J. Schwem, and Wayne Alderson.
