MRS. DEWEY L. MURPHY Mrs. Annie Bell Burney Murphy, 87, resident of Cheyenne Trail, died Friday, February 28, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols and after 12:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church, 127 Theta Pike, Columbia. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com <http://www.oakesandnichols.com>. A native of the Vanleer Community in Dickson County, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin Burney, Sr. and Lydia "Lady" Pancher Burney.Mrs. Murphy was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of sixty-four years, Dewey L. Murphy of Columbia; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Wayne Jones of Columbia, Anita and Keith Brumble of Kinston, North Carolina, Marlene and Andy Harvey of Columbia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dow and Elaine Murphy of Franklin, David and Anne Murphy of Columbia; two sisters, Mattie Nell Parker of Clarksville, Ida Lee Penny of Michigan; a brother, J. F. Burney, Jr. of Clarksville; eleven grandchildren, Mark (Shari) Jones, Bethany (Gary) Baucom, Christopher (Faith) Murphy, Suzanne (Matt) Gregory, Matt Murphy, Brian Brumble, Jennifer (Josh) Hammond, Brent (Kami) Harvey, Josh Harvey, Tyler Harvey, Allison Harvey; five great-grandchildren, Drew Jones, Kinsley Johnson, Luke Baucom, Christian Murphy, Trace Harvey. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
