Mrs. Annie Jewel Creel Wright, 91, resident of Rosewood Manor, died Sunday, January 22, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Tuscumbia, Alabama. The Yazoo City, Mississippi native was the daughter of the late Arthur Leroy Creel and Mary Frances Edwards Creel. On February 25, 1927 she married Thomas Clyde Wright who preceded her in death on March 5, 1964. She was retired from Keller Memorial Hospital in Sheffield, Alabama where she was employed as a licensed practical nurse. Mrs. Wright was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include a daughter Shirley (George) Clanton of Columbia; a son, Leroy (Kathy) Wright of Greensboro, Georgia; a daughter-in-law, Gladys Wright of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and twenty-one great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Frances Bailey and a son, Thomas Clyde Wright, Jr. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
