View Video Tribute Archie Charles “Bubba” Russell Jr. 76, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus and his family gone before him on Saturday, April 15, 2023. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin, Tennessee with Don Lovvorn and Jonathan Lovvorn officiating. Burial will follow in Green's Chapel Cemetery in the Primm Springs community. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M – 8:00 P.M. at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Bubba was born June 8, 1946 in Williamson County, Tn. and was one of nine children of the late Archie Charles “Dutch” Russell Sr. & Laura Agnes Harris Russell. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School, and after graduation, he proudly served in the United States Navy and fought for his country in Vietnam. Bubba worked 41 years and retired from Vaught Aircraft Industries. After retirement, he worked for his son, Keith Russell at Grand Fire Protection, then for Williamson County Highway Department. Bubba enjoyed driving his John Deere tractor and farming. He took pride in taking care of his garden, mowing his grass, and spending time with his family. He loved to sing gospel music. He loved to make it known that he was living on love with his wife, Sue. Bubba was a great story teller; he would tell his grandchildren stories about his childhood farming life. He was blessed to marry the love of his life and soulmate, Sue (Gordon) Russell, on June 25, 1970. Together they built a life of love for over 52 years with three children, Eric Russell, Keith (Tammy) Russell, and Susan (Kevin) Pewitt; grandchildren, Austin Russell, Alex (Lexie) Russell, Andy (Leah) Russell, Allison Pewitt, and Brooklyn Pewitt; great grandchildren, Ella Grey, his namesake: Archie, and Axel Russell; siblings, Jeanetta (Johnny) Tomlin, Clayton (Rachel) Russell, John (Brenda) Russell, Jan Kilgore, Beth (Jim) Richardson; sisters-in-law, Blanche Russell and Shirley Russell; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews. In addition to his parents his was preceded in death by his three brothers: Kirby in 1977, Houston and Jerry in 2021; brother-in-law, Jim Kilgore; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include his grandsons: Austin, Alex, and Andy Russell, Tim Russell, Greg DeWire, and Joey Caldwell. Honorary pallbearers include Patrick Kilgore, Benson Stinson, Harold Gordon, James Hargrove, John and Clayton Russell, and Bobby McKinney. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff of Caris Hospice.
