Isaac Arnold Carter, 62, retired mechanic and longtime resident of Mapleash Avenue, died Wednesday, October 25, 2006, after a long battle with cancer at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Nathan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Lampley Cemetery in the Fairview Community. The family will visit with friends Friday from 3:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Williamson County native was the son of the late Wallace "Tip" Carter and Lela Vanatta Carter. Survivors include one son, Timothy Carter of Columbia; four sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Weatherford of Nashville; Mrs. Ruth Ann Ford and Mrs. Marie (J. W.) Talley, both of Franklin; Mrs. Audry (Johnny) Fleming of Lobelville; two brothers, Elvin Carter of Franklin and Don Carter of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
