Mr. Arthur L. Gidcomb, Jr., 81, retired farmer and long-time resident of the Bigbyville Community, died Friday, November 5, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Tony Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bigbyville United Methodist Church, 3894 Bigbyville Road, Columbia, 38401. He was a graduate of Santa Fe High School and attended Columbia State Community College. Mr. Gidcomb was a member of the Bigbyville United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Helen Gidcomb Seaton of Lexington. Tennessee and Ann Gidcomb Thompson of Decatur, Alabama; a niece, Patricia Ann Thompson of Birmingham, Alabama; seven nephews, Dr. Mike Gidcomb and Tad Gidcomb of Dallas, Texas, John Gidcomb of Los Angeles, California, Jim Gidcomb of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Dale Seaton of Memphis, Don Seaton of Lexington, Tennessee and Art Thompson of Chattanooga.
