Audrey Jean Bywell

Audrey Jean Bywell, 92, resident of Culleoka, TN, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. 

Her family will gather for a small graveside service at Union Cemetery in Salem, Wisconsin. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com. 

Born May 9, 1932, and reared in Antioch, IL, she was the daughter of the late William P. Hattendorf and the late Dora P. Merta Hattendorf. Audrey married Dr. Robert W. Bywell in 1956 and together they raised their three children, Thomas, Charmaine, and Susan. She was a loving wife and a dedicated mother who enjoyed reading. She and her husband retired to Seminole, Florida where they lived until his death in 2005 and then became a resident of the beautiful state of Tennessee where she lived close to her daughter.

She is survived by her daughters, Charmaine Klapka of Culleoka, TN and Susan Bywell of Seminole, FL; grandson, Mark Klapka of Stanley, NC; granddaughters, Deanna Klapka Garwood of Brentwood, TN and Erica Bywell Bullock of Largo, FL; sister, Janice Burdick of Antioch, IL; and nieces, Natalie Burdick Hamilton of Hendersonville, NC, Kimberly Burdick Renno of Elmhurst, IL, Jean Bywell Fitzsimmons of West Lafayette, IN, Linda Bywell of IL, and Robin Bywell Pedersen of Marion, OH.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Bywell.
