Audrey Evelyn Pickard Morgan, 100, retired employee of Department of Human Services and resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living. A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 4:00 P.M. at Zion Presbyterian Churchyard with Chaplain Eddie Rogers officiating. Born July 31, 1919 in Lawrence County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Emmitt Franklin Pickard and the late Norah Elizabeth Watson Pickard. On April 8, 1950, she married Hal Morgan who preceded her in death in October 31, 2017. She enjoyed researching family genealogy. Mrs. Morgan was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church, James K. Polk Association, American Legion Post 19 Auxillary, Historical Society, Highland Home Demonstration Club, and Daughter of American Revolution. Survivors include her granddaughters, Holly (Gilly) Conners of Nashville; Hynie (David) McDowell of Columbia; great grandchildren, Gilmore Conners, Jr., Rebecca Conners, Virginia Conners, Gracie McDowell, Mary Morgan “Mimi” McDowell, Porter Armstrong, and Emmaclaire Armstrong. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, William Richard “Rick” Morgan and Maury Franklin Armstrong, Sr.; grandson, Maury Franklin Armstrong, Jr.; and great grandson, Benjamin Hal Armstrong.
