View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Bailey Garner Sims, 84, resident of Sims Road in the Southport Community, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at NHC Scott in Lawrenceburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols with William Owens and Edward Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Bethel Church of Christ, c/o Charles T. Hubbell, 6659 Campbellsville Pike, Culleoka, TN 38451. He had been employed by Union Carbide Corporation, Giles County Highway Department, and was retired from the State of Tennessee Highway Department. Mr. Sims was an avid coon hunter. He was a member of Bethel Church of Christ. Survivors include Bonnie Horne Sims of Lawrenceburg; daughter, Janice (Rick) Franklin of Lawrenceburg; son, Gary Alan (Arlene) Sims of the Yokley Community; grandchildren, Kayce Clark (Chad) Blasingim, Calvin Sims Clark, Ginny (Wesley) Johnson; Ginger (Travis) Walkington, Joe Willie (Kelli) Sims, Ryan Huntley (Casey) Sims, Kelly Ann Sims, Candice Lane Sims; sisters, Blanche Smith of Columbia, Wrennie Flowers of Southport; brother, Wendell Thurman (Sara) Sims of Lynnville; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons, Joe Garner Sims and Bobby Neal Sims. Pallbearers will be William Fitzgerald, Billy Dean Johnson, Charles T .Hubbell, Andrew Legg, Bubba Sims and Jerry Flowers.
