Mrs. Barbara McLellan "Babs" Green, 69, died Thursday, November 30, 2006 at her residence on Harris Street. A memorial service will be conducted Monday at 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Williamson officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service at the church. She was valedictorian of her high school graduating class in Bristol, Virginia and also of her class at Sullins College. Mrs. Green was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She married John Dixon "Dick" Green, Jr. on June 7, 1958, who survives. Additionally, she is survived by a daughter Susan Meredith (Dan) Garman of Columbia; two sons, John Dixon "Jay" (Bev) Green, III of Mt. Pleasant and William Sergent "Will" (Penny) Green of Columbia; grandchildren, Andrea Garman, Annika Garman, Ashton Garman, Mary Kelsey Green, John Carter Green, Meagan Green, Hannah Green, and Katherine Green; a brother, John Stewart (Mary) McLellan of Waleska, Georgia; three nieces, Suzette McLellan, Tricia Levy, and Jennifer Hagerman; mother-in-law, Ruth Sergent Green of Columbia; brother-in-law, David Robert Green; and sister-in-law, Dr. Rosalind McLellan.
