Barbara Morrison Hansen

Mrs. Barbara Frances Morrison Hansen, 83, retired church secretary and resident of Westover Drive, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church, 4671 Peytonsville Road in Franklin with Father Stephen Rogers and Deacon Edward Martin officiating. Burial will be in St. Ignatius Churchyard. The body will lie in state at the church from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until 1:00 p.m. Monday. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the church and Monday from 12:00 noon until service time. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Hidalgo County, Texas native was the daughter of the late Grant Albert Morrison, Sr. and Gertrude Bernice Carter Morrison. She had been employed as secretary at St. Ignatius Church until her retirement. Survivors include two sons, Arie Miller of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Deacon Keith (Ellen) Hansen of Columbia; three daughters, June (Jim) Larrabee of Prince Edward Island, Canada, Martha Ellen Hansen of Columbia, Kathryn Cowan of Seattle, Washington; a brother, Grant A. (Jean) Morrison, Jr. of Bryan, Texas; a sister, Anatolie (Bill) Shunk of Weslaco, Texas; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Arthur Hansen in 1979;a son, Stephen Carter Miller in 2002; and a granddaughter, Kathryn "Kathy" Larabee in 1993. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include David Beard, Tommy Cowan, Philip Hansen, Jim Larrabee, Arie Miller, Grant Morrison, Wayne Parr, and Bill Shunk.
