Berniece Mayberry Baker, 90, long-time resident of Sunnyside Drive, died Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Hueston Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born June 25,1926 in Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late Connie Mayberry and Irrie Bates Mayberry. On December 14, 1945, she married Carl Walker Baker who preceded her in death January 27, 2007. She worked at DuPont and retired after 30 years of service. After retirement, she became a businesswoman and owned and operated A to Z Florist and A to Z Weddings. Mrs. Baker was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, Carlton D. Baker of Franklin; grandchildren, David C. Baker of Columbia, Tracy Baker (Jason) Bell of Columbia, and Ben (Jen) Baker of Murfreesboro; and great grandchildren, Preslie Baker of Murfreesboro, Reagan Baker of Columbia, and Brent Baker of Columbia. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Adam Kenneth Baker. Active pallbearers will be David Baker, Jason Bell, Brent Baker, and Ben Baker.
