Mrs. Bertha May Holt Kelley, 84, former resident of Woods Drive, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 12:00 Noon at Oakes & Nichols with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Columbia Academy, 1101 West 7th Street, Columbia 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Lewis County native was the daughter of the late J. E. Holt and Mattie Jane Keel Holt. Mrs. Kelley worked for a number of years at Castner Knott in Green Hills, Harvey's and Peebles stores in Columbia. She was a long-time member of Graymere Church of Christ. She was married February 26, 1941 to Raymond C. Kelley who died in 1982.Survivors include two daughters, Katherine (Terry) Worley of Savannah and Dotty (Larry) King of Columbia; a sister, Edna Dugger of Murfreesboro; a brother, Ted (Maxine) Holt of Columbia; three half-sisters, Rachel Mayo of Decaturville, Nettie Sue Hinson of Hohenwald, and Carolyn (James) Page of Mt. Juliet; two half-brothers, Frank Holt of Summertown and Joe Holt of Joelton; five grandchildren, Jeff (Laura) Worley, Fritzi (Greg) Rickles, Tracy (Wendy) Worley, Tim King, and Kim (Stephen) Staggs; six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Wayne Moore, Hugh Langley, Dr. Fred Porter, Mike Green, Eddie Baker, Dennis Stephen, Charles Smith, Jim Baker, Virgil Lewis, and Doug Williams.
