View Funeral WebcastMrs. Bertha Viola Scholze Loveless, 89, homemaker and former longtime resident of Columbia, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at her residence in Elvaston, Illinois. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Ward and Donna Martin officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1411 School Street, Columbia, Tennessee 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Miami, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Herman Scholze and Agnes Culpepper Scholze. She was married to Joe C. Loveless, Jr. who preceded her in death in September 1986. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Joe C. Loveless, III of Columbia; Gordy Loveless (Mike) of Elvaston, Illinois; three daughters-in-law, Susan Camron Loveless of Smyrna; Patricia Totty Loveless and Carolyn Ruth House Loveless, both of Columbia; five grandchildren, Kim Loveless, Greg Loveless, Jeff (Shannon) Loveless, Mallory Loveless, Jan Loveless; four great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Davis of Madison; and special friend, Faye Hartsfield of Columbia. She was preceded in death by four sons, Donald Ray "Tuffy" Loveless, Charles Franklin Loveless, Michael Eugene Loveless, and Jerry Allen Loveless; four sisters and one brother. Pallbearers will be George Mayo, Jeff Loveless, Greg Loveless, Jeff Rector, Karter Martin, J. R. Diehl, and Anthony Frakes. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Calvary Baptist Church and employees of Morning Pointe Assisted Living.
