Beryl Marie Westbrook Hurst

View Funeral Webcast Beryl Marie Westbrook Hurst, 93, retired bookkeeper and resident of Columbia, died Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Poplar Estates. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Karen Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at a later date. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Born October 17, 1928 in Croswell, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Chester Roy Westbrook and the late Ina Grout Westbrook. On September 11, 1948, she married Owen Raye Hurst who preceded her in death June 7, 2001. Mrs. Hurst was a founding member of Spring Hill Senior Citizens and spent many years volunteering at Maury Regional Hospital. She enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting, and was a Red Hat lady. Mrs. Hurst was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Hurst Almas of Columbia; sons, Larry (Janet Howard) Hurst of Culleoka; Lon Hurst of Nashville; grandchildren, Stephanie (Joel) Hurst-Blanton, David (Allison) Hurst, Timothy (Rebecca Renfro) Hurst, Sarah Hurst (Dennis) Roop; nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Vera Watson, Lloyd Westbrook, Glen Westbrook, Louise Randolph, Ross Westbrook, Lila Johnson; and son-in-law, Bradley Almas.
