Mrs. Bettie Doris Walters Little, 78, died Thursday, August 7, 2008 at her residence on Gaskill Branch Road in the Santa Fe Community.Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Chaplain Justin Rice of Trinity Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 -8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. éThe Maury County native was the daughter of the late Bracken Hensley Walters, Sr. and Lillian McKee Walters. She was a 1948 graduate of Columbia Central High School. On April 6, 1951 she married Arnold "Bud" Little who preceded her in death August 22, 1994. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. éMrs. Little was retired from the Department of Human Services in Austin Texas.é She was an avid golfer and longtime member of Stoneybrook Ladies' Golf League. She loved to travel all over the world and was selfless and kind to everyone she met. éSurvivors include two daughters, Cynthia (Cindy) Little of Santa Fe, Sherry Little of Houston, TX; a son, Mark Little of Austin, TX; one granddaughter, Lily McAninch of Houston, TX; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Stanfill of Columbia; two brothers, Billy (Peggy) Walters and Leon (Mildred) Walters both of Columbia; and dedicated friend, Marty Lockhart.She was preceded in death by one son, Steve Little, one sister, Polly Strickland, and four brothers, Howard Walters, Raymond Walters, Bracken Walters, Jr. and Ralph Walters. éPallbearers will be Greg Walters, Mike Walters, Marty Lockhart, Buster Walters, Randy Stanfill, Larry Walters, Alan Faulkner and Larry Weaver. The family wishes to thank Tammy and Janet and the staff of Trinity Hospice for their loving care.
