Betty Elois Brown Crigger, 78, retired private sitter, died Sunday, June 26, 2016 at her residence on Carol Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Scribner's Mill Church of Christ with Ricky Clay, Bryan Basham, and Terry Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Scribner's Mill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Robert Sewell Brown and Rutha Creel Brown. On June 20, 1958 she married Ewell "Bowser" Crigger, Sr. who preceded her in death December 3, 2003. She was a 1957 graduate of Columbia Central High School. Affectionately known as Momma, Miss Betty and Aunt Betty she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved working puzzle books, jig saw puzzles and watching game shows. Mrs. Crigger was a member of Scribner's Mill Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters, Carol (Billy) Andrews, Betsy (Zack) Caperton, Doris (Doug) Smith; sons, Ewell (Aleli) Crigger, Jr, Bill Crigger (Elaine Parnell), Robert (Donna) Crigger; son-in-law, Ricky Blackburn; brother, Doug (Janice) Brown; brothers-in-law, Virgil White, J.W. "Shorty" Richardson, Frank Patterson; sisters-in-law, Charlene (Harvey) Victory, Lady Watson, Linda Sue Crigger, Cindy Crigger; seventeen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Blackburn; granddaughter, Holley Nicholle Blackburn; and sisters, Doris White and Nancy Richardson. Active pallbearers will be Tony White, Jerry Vaughn, Danny Pugh, Tim Morton, Joel Love, Wayne Dean, Robert Gibson, Larry Pigue, Marshall Savage, and Randy Bush. Honorary pallbearers include Tim Brashears and member of Scribner's Mill Church of Christ.
