View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Betty Lou Wilkes Allred, 96, retired employee of Maury Manufacturing and Maury Regional Medical Center, died Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bob Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born August 17, 1926 in Barney, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John Arlie Wilkes and the late Etta May McCall Wilkes. She married Edwin E. Allred who preceded her in death October 26, 2008. Mrs. Allred enjoyed making jelly, gardening, riding four wheelers, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended Mooresville Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Michael E. “Eddie” (Stephanie) Allred, John A. (Lisa) Allred; grandchildren, Brian (Rachel) Allred, Brent (Carmen) Allred, Brooke (Michael) Clendenen, Magen Allred; and great grandchildren, Lilly Allred, Knox Allred, Warner Allred, Caroline Allred; brother, James Wilkes; and nephew, Michael (Nancy) Wilkes. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six siblings. Active pallbearers will be Brian Allred, Brent Allred, Michael Clendenen, Michael Wilkes, George Thomas, and Dwight Hines. Honorary pallbearers include Keith Seagraves, Richards Logsdon, Taylor Jordan, John Rollins, Dr. Jeff Revill, and members of Mooresville Baptist Church.
