Betty Porter Ms. Betty Shelby Porter, 64, a resident of Richmond, Missouri, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004 in Richmond, Missouri. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bob Adair officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 12 noon until 7 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Fremont, Ohio native was the daughter of Phyllis Smith Shelby of Nashville and the late Lonnie Shelby. She was a retired employee of G.M.A.C. Survivors in addition to her mother are one son, Billy (Susie) Ward of Conway, Arkansas; one daughter, Sharon Simmons; one sister, Suzanne (Holland) Koontz of Nashville; one brother, Jim Shelby of Lubbock, Texas; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
