Betty Ann Lovett Standen, former longtime resident of Columbia and more recently a resident of Hewitt House Assisted Living in Pulaski for several years, died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born in Lawrence County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Peyton Lovett and the late Lottie Mae Hicks Lovett. She was a graduate of Summertown High School and retired as Quality Control Manager from Dixie/Washington Manufacturing. Mrs. Standen traveled to Guatemala, Bogota, Columbia, and other countries to help establish apparel plants. She was a member of East Side Church of Christ in Pulaski. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Alfred C. Standen of Pulaski; daughter, Casey (Randy) Hudgins of Duck River; sister, Carol (Cecil) Conner of Columbia; grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Wood, Danielle (Marshall) Evans, Jane (Jason) Blackburn, Jessica Hudgins (Craig Kimbrough), Angie Spears, Benji King, Leilani (Michael) Shouse, William Alan (Dani) Stewart, Jr., Zachary Thomas (Lexx) Stewart, Stacy (Tex) Rich; daughter-in-law, Pam Bowen of Columbia; son-in-law, Bobby King of Columbia several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, James Forrest Stewart, Jr. and William Alan Stewart; daughter, Dianne King; grandson, James Forrest Stewart, III; granddaughter, Julie Ann King; and brother, Walter David Lovett. Pallbearers will be Tim Conner, Jeff Conner, Marshall Evans, Preston Evans, Wesley Evans, and Chris Wood.
