MRS. BETTY THOMAS Mrs. Betty Joyce Fogg Thomas, 70, retired employee of Rosewood Manor, died Friday, September 19, 2003, at her residence on Buckner Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Nathan Potts officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Lawrence County native was the daughter of the late Bill Grooms and Mamie Waldrop Grooms. She was married to Willard Springer who died in 1967, Roy "Pete" Fogg who died in 1996, and James Thomas who died in 2001. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah (Nathan) Potts of Columbia; Beverly (Billy) Edwards of Lewisburg; one sister, Martha (Billy) Owens of Columbia; special friend, Doris LeMay of Lawrenceburg; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Johnson who died in 2002. Pallbearers will be Mike Goats, David McCoy, Wayne Edwards, Eric Powell, Tim Potts, and Donald Johnson.
