Betty Jo Jones Wilson, 84, former longtime resident of Main Street in Lynnville, died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Life Care Center of Columbia where she had made her home for several years. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Danny Jones and Brother Gary Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Bryant Cemetery in the Mooresville Community. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.Born July 20, 1933 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late James Burney Jones and the late Mary Emily Sexton Jones. For 59 years, she was married to William H. "Bill" Wilson who preceded her in death April 1, 2012. For many years, she worked for Block & Kuhl Department Store's tea room and in the cafeteria for Caterpillar Incorporation which were both located in Peoria, Illinois. Mrs. Wilson enjoyed cooking and gardening. Although, she never had children, she treated her nieces and nephews as though they were her own, and loved including them on her vacations. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and attended Mooresville Pike Baptist Church. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Thelma Jones of Lynnville; and several nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews; great great nieces; and great great nephews.She was preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Tice; Sallie Holder; Adelle Pickard; and Irene Haislip; and brothers, Preston Jones; Porter Jones; Eugene Jones; and Clifford Jones. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers include friends in the Mooresville and Lynnville Communities.
