Bettye J. Hamby

Bettye J. Hamby 87, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Galloway Health and Rehab in Galloway, Tennessee. She was born June 19, 1932 in Memphis to Nolan and Willie Johnson. Surviving is her son, Mike (Denise) Hamby of Memphis and her daughter, Beth Hamby Jones of Collierville, TN; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; her brother Clifford E. Johnson (Buddy), Sr. of Columbia, Tennessee; and a host of much-loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She graduated from Southside High School class of 1950. She was a retired real estate agent with Matlock Realty of Memphis Graveside services will be held at Jones Cemetery in Columbia, Tennessee. She was selflessly devoted to her children and grandchildren; she will be greatly missed. “A thousand years on earth is but a day in Heaven”. She knows she will see us in a minute.
