Bettye Rose Frazier Messmer

Bettye Rose Frazier Messmer, 90, died Friday, February 23, 2024 at LifeCare of Columbia after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  Per her written wishes, there will not be a visitation or funeral at this time. Instead, she has requested a Christian graveside service and burial at the family’s cemetery at Goose Pond Cemetery in Scottsboro, AL. Bettye was born to Arthur C. Frazier and Rosa Foster Frazier on January 2, 1934 in St. Genevieve, MO.  She grew up in Scottsboro, AL. She married the love of her life, Donald F. Messmer, Jr on December 27, 1963. Survivors include her daughters, Julie Lee (Jeff) of Murfreesboro, TN and Hakari Draco of Ft. Mitchell, AL; granddaughters, Cara Messmer of Conway, AR, Jordyn Hawkins (Justin) of Murfreesboro, TN, Kelli Johnson (Parker) of Columbia, TN, and a great grandson, Miller Johnson.  In addition to her parents, Bettye was preceded in death by her brother, James A Frazier, her husband, Don, and her son, Michael.  The family would like to thank the caregivers at Lifecare and Compassus Hospice for their care and compassion during her stay at LifeCare.
