Mrs. Beulah "Bebe" Bryant Hartsfield, 94, retired register nurse and resident of Whitney Drive, died Monday, October 31, 2005 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 4p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Elmer Crosby officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 2- 4 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday at Hebron Churchyard near Anniston, Alabama with Brother Sam Legon officiating. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Calhoun County, Alabama native was the daughter of the late J.R. Bryant and Jennie Mae Martin Bryant. On June 11, 1935 she married Morris Clinton Hartsfield who preceded her in death February 29, 1988. Mrs. Hartsfield graduated from Ohatchee High School in Alabama and attended Jacksonville Teacher College for two years. She received her nursing degree from Garner Memorial Hospital, graduating at the top of her class and also obtained the highest grade on her State Boards. After moving to Columbia she worked in Dr. Hart's office. She was a member of West End Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, James William Hartsfield of Columbia; one brother, Wyatt M. (Lela) Bryant of Anniston, AL; one sister-in-law Rita Bryant of Ohatchee, AL; several nieces and nephews, including Jimmy (Scarlet) Bryant and Susan (Marty) Perry both of Ohatchee, AL, Justin (Katrina) Bryant of Wellington, AL, and George (Melinda) Hartsfield, Jerry (Amanda) Hartsfield and Walter (Linda) Hartsfield all of Talledega, AL. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cyrill Bryant, James Claxton "Bud" Bryant and one sister, Rilla Bryant. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
