MRS. BEULAH STEWMAN Mrs. Beulah Mae Goosby Stewman, 97, retired supervisor at Dixie Manufacturing and Weather Tamer and former resident of Bestview Drive, died Sunday, July 20, 2003 at Heritage Manor of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Adair officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Memorials may be made to Highland Park Baptist Church. The Lincoln County native was the daughter of the late Marion "Woody" Goosby and Alice Tucker Goosby. She was married to John W. Stewman who preceded her in death June 21, 1981. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Mrs. Stewman enjoyed gardening, sewing and people. Being skillful with her hands, loving and patient with children, and friendly to all, she will be fondly remembered for her generous spirit and her unshakable belief in others. The family appreciates the dedication of the Heritage Manor staff and the devotion of the members of Highland Park Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter-in-law Joan "Jo Jo" Dodds Stewman of Ringgold, Georgia; five grandchildren, Kerry Stewman of Naples, Florida, Pam Kirkland of Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia, Steve Stewman of Kaiserslautern, Germany, Debbie Beers and Lisa Bradley both of Dallas, Texas; fourteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Joe D. Stewman who died September 5, 1990; five sisters, Mamie Webb, Blanche Hayes, Ruth Bell, Pauline Turner, Elizabeth Chapman; and three brothers, Willard Goosby, Ellis Goosby and J.W. Goosby. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Highland Park Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Heritage Manor.
