View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Beverly Prentice Martin, 72, retired secretary for Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Farm Bureau, died Monday, July 12, 2021 at her residence in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Graymere Church of Christ with Wendell Robinson, Ray Penna officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with Andrew Phillips officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. -8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born April 16, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Albert Sherley Prentice and the late Juanita Thomas Prentice. Mrs. Martin was a wonderful cook and known for her pecan pies. Earlier in life she coached softball at Culleoka and also served as a Counselor at Maury Christian Camp many years. Mrs. Martin was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, whom she married September 13, 1968, Carl Jackson Martin of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Amy (Kenny) Glover of Mayfield, Kentucky; son, Allen (Jennifer) Martin of Jackson; sister, Janice (Charles) Hardison of Cornersville; sister-in-law, Peggy Prentice of Duck River; grandchildren, Jackson Glover, Minlie Glover both of Mayfield, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Prentice. Active pallbearers will be Charles Hardison, David Prentice, Darrell Prentice, Kenny Glover, Jackson Glover, Ben Jones, Jr. Roberts, and Larry Yeager. Honorary pallbearers include Elders, Deacons, and Ministers of Graymere Church of Christ. The family would like to express a special thanks to Willowbrook Home Health & Hospice.
