William Tarlton "Bill" Brunson, 81, retired employee of Union Carbide and resident of Pawnee Trail, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Cunningham and Rev. Eugene Barrett officiating.é Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.é The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M.é at the funeral home.é Memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church Building Fund, 606 Santa Fe Pike, Columbia, TNé 38401.é Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.éThe Maury County native was the son of the late Henry Brunson and Eura Mae Hickman Brunson.ééé Mr. Brunson retired as crane operator after forty years service at Union Carbide.é He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.é He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ellen Shouse Brunson of Columbia; one son, Ken Brunson of Columbia; one daughter, Connie Sue (Mark) Tabor of Lawrenceville, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Chris Brunson, Cayci Brunson, Cory Brunson, Cayla Brunson, and Collin Brunson, all of Columbia; Ryan Tabor and Lauren Tabor, both of Lawrenceville, Georgia; one great grandchild, Makayla Brunson; and several nieces and nephews.éHe was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin Brunson and Henry Brunson, Jr.Pallbearers will be Larry Fox, Cecil Connor, Jim Carpenter, Guy Potts, Pete Harlan, Jack Brunson, Dwight Maxwell, and Gary Maxwell.éHonorary pallbearers will be retired employees of Union Carbide and members of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
