Billie Baker "PeeWee" Renfro, 85, retired employee of Monsanto and resident of the Hampshire Community, died Friday, January 16, 2004, at Centennial Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Gillstrap and Rock Jaggers officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery. Army during World War II. Prior to his employment with Monsanto, Mr. Renfro worked with his father as a blacksmith for twenty-five years in the Hampshire Community. He was a member of the Hampshire United Methodist Church and the Hampshire Men's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Gladys Brown Renfro of Hampshire; one son, Everette (Janet) Renfro of Culleoka; one son-in-law, Jerry Vick of Spring Hill; three grandchildren, Renee (Bob) Bowser, Mike (Carolyn) Renfro, Melody (David) Huckaby; four great grandchildren, Will Bowser, John Bowser, Savannah Huckaby, Brittney Huckaby; two brothers-in-law, Bill (Martha) Brown, Richard (Ruth) Brown; two sisters-in-law, Marie Holden and Callie Renfro; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Norma Jean Renfro Vick; and four brothers, Charlie Renfro, Bob Renfro, Jim Renfro and Thomas Renfro. Pallbearers will be Mike Renfro, Bob Bowser, David Huckaby, Charles Turner, Gene Quarles, Bobby Lee Runions, Paul Whiteside, and Ken Sherman.
