View Funeral WebcastBilly Wayne Clark, 79, retired owner and operator A & R Sales & Services, died Friday, October 27, 2017 at his residence on Hardison Road. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Charles Clark and Stephen Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to The American Diabetes Association, Memorial & Honor Program, P.O. The Maury County native was the son of the late Ernest Carroll Clark and the late Odie Mae Steward Clark. He was 1956 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956- 1959. Mr. Clark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sue Sargent Clark of Columbia; son, Wayne Clark of Columbia; daughter, Veronica Bates of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Allyson Bates of Mt. Pleasant; Nicholas Clark of Columbia; Ryan (Tiffany) Bates of Lynchburg; Jillian (Travis) Rael of Mulburry; great grandchildren, Gwen Milam; Rylynn Bates; Elijah Rael; brothers, James (Betty) Clark of Columbia; Charles (Bertha) Clark of Columbia; sister, Victoria Jean Clark of Columbia; sister-in-law, Estelle Jean Clark of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wilburn Clark; and Ray Clark; nephews, Chip Clark; Marty Clark; Mark Reischman; and Roger Moore; and sisters-in-law, Elenora Clark; and Joyce Moore. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Helgren, Jeff Foster, Rodney Patterson, Bill Brooks, Robert Wayne Franklin, Stephen Moore, Terry Sargent, Tony Seaborn, Michael Reischman, and Tim Thompson.The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Greenspan and caregivers at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Hospital, Tracey Roberts of Hospice Compassus, Jean Clark, and Charles Clark.
