Billy Dale “Bill” Edwards, 78, retired Machinist for Brooks Machine Works for thirty-years and resident of Columbia, died Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M.at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born July 15, 1944 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Wilburn “Shorty” Edwards and the late Vannie Peach Edwards. A family man, Mr. Edwards loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, Nascar racing, and UT Vols Football. Survivors include his wife, whom he married December 29,1968, Cathy Henderson Edwards of Columbia; daughter, Kelly Edwards (Chris) King of Lewisburg; grandson, Logan (Cortney) King of Cornersville; granddaughter, Leah King (Jeffrey) Knox of Chapel Hill; great granddaughter, Sunny Kate King of Cornersville; sisters, Mary McKinney of Centerville; Lesa Brooks of Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Peggy Edwards, Agnes Voorhies; and brother, James Edwards. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers..
